Sailboats and Sirens

"Song of Love" - René Magritte

I've learned one lesson well
To trust in life
For it can give me whatever I'm looking for
I have no place to hide
Inside of me isn't safe anymore

I have to keep the mast upward
Spread my sail wide in the air
And let the wind invitingly
Take me far across the sea

I could swear I heard a whisper
Or maybe another noise
Perhaps something crisper
Possibly just your voice

Reminding me of siren sounds
melodies unbound
Words that were once spoken
Vows that remain unbroken

I've travelled for so long
Yet it still can't feel like home
Maybe the density
Maybe in my last destiny
I will finally be free
